I can perform a pretty cool trick that I like to show to clients, prospects, and fellow copywriters. I tell them that I can get on the Internet and within 5 seconds take them to a site where the home page copy will really stink.

You want to know the secret to this trick?

I merely type in the word “accountant” and go to the first page I see in the SERPS.  Accounting firms rarely have any good copy on their pages.  As a matter of fact, I often wonder if they are actually trying to repel business.

Maybe business is so good that people are beating down their doors to hand them money, because 99% of them have HORRIBLE web pages!

Anyway, since I live in next to the Valley View Ferry, here, in lovely Kentucky, I’ve decided to critique three accounting firm’s websites.

NOTE:  These are excellent accounting firms, their website copy merely stinks on ice.  That doesn’t mean in any way, shape or form, that these businesses are bad.  As a matter of fact, as far as accounting and bookkeeping services are concerned, they are at the top of their game.

However, their website copy STILL stinks. (Sorry)
